Dream Team
From the 2019/2020 Season the Club has decided to name its “dream team” for both men’s and women’s side of the Club. Regardless of the players age, the coaches selected who they believed were the outstanding players in the Club. One goal keeper and four field players are selected per team. Quite a deal of discussion and red wine goes into selecting these teams. Many great players miss out but the following have been selected.

Drawing a game against the Futsalroos and making the top four finals Competition.
Whilst other teams from our Club have beaten other Jewish national teams and even on occasion have beaten national teams, from countries that no one knew actually played futsal, never before had we played against a strong National side. In the run up to the 2020 World cup qualifier we had been asked to play a game against the Australian Futsalroos. Really we were in a no lose situation. If we won were were champions, if we lost it was exactly what everyone expected. What no one expected was our team to start by far the strongest of the two teams. In fact after a magical goal by Gilly Swartz we found ourselves two goals in front. Australia was however clinical in from of goals and by midway through the second half had drawn level. Amazingly though we struck again and with only miutes to go it looked like a memorable victory was in offing. Unfortunately right at the death the Futsalroos scored and we had to settle for a memorable draw
In the regular season the team did amazingly well as well. For long periods it was fighting for first place. A bad two weeks left it in a three way battle for fourth. In the last round of the regular season it finally beat Inner West and secured its first finals spot.
The finals were nail biting affair. In 41 degrees they faught the winner of the competition the mighty Mascot Vipers to a draw. They prevailed in penalties, when Robbie Ezekiel scored after A viper had missed. The following day they took on the fearsome Inner West Magic. A team full of experienced Futsalroos, and although they went behind early on they continued to fight. They took the lead only to be pegged back and then with 30 seconds to go they scored the winning goal. For a Club in only its second year in the top division it was a memorable victory.

ESHFC U15 Girls Team 2018-2019
Winners of the U15 competition.
This team created history. Never had a team from a newly promoted Club won their age group in the year after being promoted. The team did. The Club was incredibly lucky. Four girls from the previous year were retained and at trials we picked up another five tremendous players. From the start we knew that this team was special, we just didn’t know how special they were. From this team 7 players were selected for state Representative honours. Gisella Pipino U15 NSW Thunder, Olivia Mitchell U15 NSW Storm, Kiara Holyoake-Caceda U15 NSW Storm, Lucia White U15 NSW Storm, Felicity Mcneill U15 NSW Storm and both Daniella Batten and Akala Howell made the NSW Metro U16 team for AFA nationals.

Australian Mens Team 2017
Israel July 2017 (Maccabiah)
This was the culmination of a two year programme that included 130 training sessions, two special tournaments, two seasons in state league and two tours to Thailand. We sent our most skillful team yet. It was coached by ex Futsalroo Simon Keith (Simo), and managed by Daniel Sharp (Shark Nado) and headlined by two Futsalroos in Jarod Basger and Jordan Mundell. After touring Thailand we headed straight to Pre Camp in Haifa. There we had a welcome ceremony, hosted by the mayor of Haifa, and a trip to the ancient city of Acre. Jordan, Jarod and Robbie then gave a talk to the under 16 Futsal team and handed out their shirts to them. The seniors then left Haifa via a ceremony, marking the terrible tragedy in 1997, where 4 Australian athletes died and 20 were injured when a bridge leading into the opening ceremony collapsed. The team then checked into their Hotel on the Tel Aviv beach front. This was followed by the 2017 Opening ceremony in Jerusalem and then it was “Go time”.
The 20th Maccabiah had 10,000 Athletes from 85 Nations. In the Futsal competiteion we had teams from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Cuba, France, Gibraltar, Hong Kong, Hungary, Israel, Lithuania, Mexico, Sweden, USA.
Australia was ranked 4 and put in the pool with Brazil. As only one team from each pool moved into the Grand Final it meant that we had to beat Brazil when we played them or we would be relegated to the bronze medal play off.

ESHFC U14 Boys Team 2016-2017
Team won every game.
Two years later as top age players the players from the under 12 2013/2014 team did it again. Winning their competition undefeated. To do it this year however required some amazing wins with the last kick of the game. In the Grand final against Quake they showed their dominance of the competition scoring four goals in 8 minutes to put the result beyond doubt.

ESHFC Mens Team 2010-2011 F League
ESHFC Mens Team 2010-2011
Winners of the Inaugural F League competition.
For years Australian Futsal players had wanted a national competition. It was a requirement imposed by FIFA if Australia was to enter national teams into international competitions. It was however a very expensive exercise as teams would have to fly around the country to compete. Maccabi entered a team for the very first F league competition. It was considered part of the teams buildup to the 2013 Maccabiah. When all the games had been played this magnificent team ended up winning the competition and writing its name in the history books.

Maccabi Hakoah Mens Team 2010-2011
Winner of The New Zealand National Competition
After wining the Australian Super League competition the team flew to New Zealand to compete in the New Zealand National Championship. We were the only international team to be invited. The New Zealand National review reported the following.
“After taking out the minor premiership by a runaway 14 points at the conclusion of Series Three, Maccabi proved too strong for the best New Zealand sides, demolishing Red Sox Manawatu 4-0 in the semi final before second half goals from Jordan Mundell and Jarrod Basger were enough for the visitors to take the title over a well drilled Capital side. Nineteen year old Basger also took out the Golden Boot award with 16 goals in fifteen series games, while team mate Daniel Fulton picked up the overall National League MVP”.
